MOVEMENT

Photomaterism is an artistic approach, a movement that aims to transform photography from an image into a unique work of art. Considering photography as a form of language and expression, the photomaterism process transforms the photographic soul into a material body. The material merges with the content and elevates it by giving it a stronger and above all unique meaning and value. The photo-material process is a real artistic project, like the photographic one. It starts from a complete photographic work and transforms it, through a series of creative actions and thoughts into a unique work. In a historical phase in which we are doped with images due to the rapid rise of digitization and the consequent enormous, sometimes compulsive, amplification through the various social tools, I believe that the image and the material can create a new level of artistic experience. Matter creates experience, it helps you reconnect with reality, it's unique, it's true. Through matter we can reconnect with the "now", the self, with living and therefore with art as its representation. With matter we can go back to living a more intense experience, the image emerges more strengthened, the observer not only activates the sight but also the other senses.

“ The material helps to “feel” the image even more.

In 2017 he exhibited during the Venice Art Biennale at the Accorsi Gallery and subsequently ours was hosted on the boat by Pier Paolo Pasolini, Oedipus Rex, at the Venice Arsenale and becomes the main exhibition during the Film Festival, obtaining great international visibility.

The works have been selected as a prize for great artists who have emerged for their ability to include such as Dacia Maraini, Vasco Rossi, Frederick Wiseman.

In 2019 he developed his second "photomaterism project" dedicated to the terrible earthquake in Amatrice, "Il Rumore dell'Assenza" where the devastating images are imprinted on crumpled paper as a symbol of human frailty. In 2020 the third project "Mi-Ro" Milan-Rome dedicated to the theme of commuting through direct printing on the windows of trains built for the exhibition itinerary. Since 2017 he has been developing the project "Italian Summer", aimed at the social narrative of Italianness on vacation through an unusual point of view, i.e. through the use of a drone. His photographs are currently present in various galleries in Italy and abroad and are part of important private collections.
